| Tumors on the roots that are caused by bacteria
(Agrobakterium tumefaciens). Through the growths there is a
lower level of sap flow in the tree and therefore little growth
and less fruits. The bacteria lives for several years in the
ground. Apple or pear should not be planted on tainted ground. |
